What's New in Home Appliances

Kitchen

Electrolux—you’re thinking vacuums, right?
They started making refrigerators in Europe since 1925, and this year started selling indoor and outdoor kitchen appliances in the U.S.! They have a 36” counter-depth smudge-resistant stainless steel side by side refrigerator with a stainless steel water dispenser in the door.   They have the coolest (to the touch) full feature 30” convection wall oven (stainless steel) with fully extendable telescoping oven racks as standard.  Their Icon dishwasher won the ADEX Award for Design Excellence.

Northland - They started making iceboxes in 1892!
If you need extra refrigerator capacity in a 36 inch side by side model, they’ve come out with a ProChef model that features 3 separately controlled compartments, a 3.3 cubic foot freezer w/icemaker, a 7.3 cubic foot refrigerator below that, and a 12.2 cubic foot refrigerator on the right.  They claim the largest true storage capacity refrigerators with all metal interior walls and inner door panels for easy clean and no absorption of food odors.

Whirlpool
They unveiled their new Designer Fit counter-depth refrigerators which they report have the largest capacity side by side available on the market.  It provides the unique features of In-Door ice dispensers to provide more shelf storage space, and In-Door cooling system that directs air from freezer to door bins to keep the milk station in the door cold, and EZ-Tote door bins to help take out  multiple items in one trip.

Laundry

Fisher & Paykel, since 1934
Have revolutionized clothes drying!  They have Smartload, which features reverse-tumble drying.  They report the feature significantly reduces creasing, tangling, and things being rolled into a “ball.”

Maytag
They featured its new Neptune Top-loading Washer and Neptune Drying Center.  It is the only top load washer that tumbles clothes clean, instead of agitating them.  The tumblers gently lift and submerge clothes sparing them wear and tear.  It has an oversize capacity for bulky items.  The Neptune traditional dryer is combined with a unique drying cabinet placed directly above the dryer.  You can hang shirts, caps, or lay flat hand wash/delicates or sweaters and have them dry discreetly out of sight.
