Community Projects
Charitable Contributions
Following the Biblical principle of giving the first fruits back to God,
Cook Remodeling & Custom Construction, Inc. has the commitment to contribute
at least 10% of the company earnings to those in need. The charities chosen
must be good stewards, with at least 92% of the money going for the service,
and they do not discriminate whom they serve. Some of the most recognized
charities are: Mercy Corps, Catholic Relief Services, Habitat for Humanity,
St. Vincent de Paul, and others that assist third world children/families with
food, medicine, and school stipends. We also support teen abstinence programs
and runaway shelters, crisis pregnancy centers, and the like.
Jeff Cook shares, "I am thankful and feel blessed to have a successful business
which has been built with the help of great workers and clients who tell others
of our quality and service. I feel blessed to show this gratitude by helping
those less fortunate." Janet B. Cook, dJM says, "I was glad we were able to
funnel over $15,000 to help the victims of the Tsunami disaster in December 2004."
Giving Back
Often times we replace functioning windows, doors,
appliances, etc. to improve energy efficiency, noise reduction, quality and update with
better designed products. If the materials are reusable and not wanted by the clients,
we make the effort to donate to Stardust Non-Profit Building Supplies, Inc. They are
organized to provide materials to lower income families, and keep useable supplies
from being wasted and filling up landfills. They donate proceeds to nonprofit housing
and shelter organizations in the area.
Angels on Call
There are days that our crews might not have work
ready, such as when they finish ahead of schedule or because of rain. Instead of them
being shorted a day of pay or vacation, Cook Remodeling & Custom Construction, Inc.
will pay them to do community work through Stardust's "Angels on Call" program. Their
mission is to assist those in our community who are in dire need of trade skill help for
maintaining basic, safe living conditions in their homes which they cannot afford to
arrange for themselves.
