Question 1

Are you licensed, bonded and insured contractor? Are your estimates free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we are licensed, bonded and insured. We will visit your home and provide a free ballpark estimate.

Question 2

What is a design-build remodeling approach? Does that include getting the permit and HOA approval?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our design-build approach includes handling the permitting and HOA requirements in-house, along with the other essential steps of your remodel. One trusted, integrated team guides your project from concept to completion. Cook Remodeling brings together design, engineering and permitting when needed, provides assistance with material selections, coordinates the construction professionals, and works with you through the final punch list. The result is a more connected, smooth process, with your vision, budget, and timeline guiding the project from start to finish.

Question 3

Can Cook Remodeling build guest casitas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We'll research applicable building codes and HOA requirements to determine whether a casita is possible, identify the best location, and maximize the available space. Whether you envision a private guest suite, home office, exercise and wellness retreat, pool house, or inviting entertaining space, we'll help create a place that adds flexibility, enjoyment, and new possibilities to your home.

Question 4

How long does a typical kitchen renovation or an addition take?

Accepted Answer

Timelines vary depending on the scope of work, design selections, permitting, and material lead times. After analyzing your home and learning your goals, we'll provide a realistic timeline for your project. During the planning and design phase, our team develops a clear project schedule, helps you to make key selections early, and prepares you for construction. Once construction begins, we strive to have workers on site every day to keep your project moving forward. We know how much you want your house back, so we work as efficiently as possible to deliver the home of your dreams and get you back to enjoying it as soon as possible.

Question 5

Do You Provide Financing? Accept Credit Card payments?

Accepted Answer

We have found people find better financing terms with their own bank or lender using the equity in their home. We accept Mastercard and Visa payments which has a 3% surcharge.

Question 6

Will refacing cabinets or purchasing them on my own save money?

Accepted Answer

Not significantly, if at all. When you compare the cost of refacing or purchasing cabinets from a big-box retailer—including the installation you'll need to arrange separately—the total cost can be quite similar to purchasing new cabinets through us. As a Dura Supreme cabinet dealer, we offer USA-made cabinetry with quality construction and an included warranty, often for about the same price as comparable cabinets found at big-box retailers.

Refacing may make sense if your existing cabinet boxes are in good condition and you want to keep your current layout and countertops. However, if you're already investing in a remodel, it's worth considering the advantages of new cabinetry. Cabinet construction and storage solutions have improved significantly, offering features and functionality that may make replacing your cabinets a worthwhile investment.

If you choose to reface your existing cabinets or purchase cabinets on your own, you'll typically be responsible for arranging the installation separately. The installer's schedule may not align with the rest of your remodeling project, and delays in installation can hold up other phases of the project and extend the time before your kitchen is complete.

When you purchase cabinets through Cook Remodeling, we coordinate the cabinetry and installation as part of your overall project schedule, helping keep the different phases of your remodel moving together. The cabinetry is also covered under the warranty for your remodeling project, giving you the added peace of mind of having the work included within one coordinated project.

Our goal is to help you invest wisely and achieve the long-term results you want—without spending more than necessary.
