Cook Remodeling and Custom Construction is committed to helping those in need, and for the care of our environment in the local community.   We do this by the green remodeling practices of recycling building materials, organizing the donation of useable products & appliances, as well as offering our skills to support local non-profit construction renovation projects.

Recent projects include:

  • Assistance in the planning for office expansion for Maggie’ Place in Phoenix, and modified their Tempe home to serve expectant mothers who are alone or need a place to live. www.maggiesplace.org
  • Purchase and donation of cabinets, bathroom shower, toilets, vanities, sinks, lighting, bookcases, entertainment center, washer/dryer, beds, lamps, dressers, and furniture to Habitat for Humanity of Phoenix to help furnish newly constructed homes.
  • Arranging the donation of usable appliances and cabinetry to non-profit organizations and Stardust Building Supplies at the Mesa, Arizona location.
  • Built a bedroom addition so a foster family could help another child with special needs.  The team even volunteered on Saturdays to help expedite completion so the child could stay with the family!

Janet Cook is a business owner volunteer that has served the last three years as a semi-finalist nominator for Phoenix, East Valley applicants for NFIB’s annual national Young Entrepreneur Award.  Since its inception in 2003, the Foundation has awarded over 2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors totaling more than $2.3 million.  Last year two seniors from Scottsdale won, and four from other Arizona cities.  The National Federation of Independent Business’ Young Entrepreneur Foundation will grant NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards nationwide in the amount of $1,000 – $10,000. Applications are accepted from October 1-December 15th. For more information, to read the inspirational stories of past winners, or to apply, go here.

In addition to our donation of time, we donate 5% of our profit to benefit local non-profit agencies, and 5% to national and international charities who assist families in crisis needing food, medical care, shelter.  We choose charities that are as efficient with the dollar as we are, such as Mercy Corps or Habitat for Humanity.

We at Cook Remodeling feel very blessed that the majority of our work comes from referrals of our happy clients.  So we started the COOK REMODELING CLIENTS HALL OF FAME program for clients who have helped at least three others have a positive experience in remodeling their home by choosing Cook Remodeling.

Each inductee will get a moringa tree planted in their name through Trees for Life.

What’s a moringa tree?  Known for preventing 300 diseases, the highly nutritious leaves of the moringa tree can help prevent untold suffering and death from malnutrition for millions of people.  Its leaves also accelerates growth and increases yield of crops.

Stay tuned as we notify those who have qualified, and we will give them honorable mention on Cook Remodeling Facebook page!  If you haven’t seen your name, and know you qualify, know that for referrals, many people have told us,  “friends” or “neighbor”, so we didn’t get to give you credit!  Just let us know!
