Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk was best known for traveling to different college campuses for the last 12 years, sitting under a tent that said, “Prove Me Wrong“, inviting people to ask him anything. Known to be a Christian in his worldview, he was at times met with hostility, shouting, name-calling, being talked over and rejected, but he remained calm, respectful, and unflappable in modeling and inviting all to civil discourse. To those who stormed off, he wished them well. Being an avid reader for ongoing education, he was able to provide facts, cite historical examples, recite the US Constitution, and quote relevant Scriptures from memory.

At the age of 18, he co-founded Turning Point USA in his parent’s garage, a non-profit to promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government, which has grown to employ over 500 people. Charlie led many to Christ, healed wounds, helped people get back on track, realize their purpose, and challenged all to get to church, grow in knowledge, faith, and love, to live morally, to save sex for marriage, and to embrace the blessing of children. He has set up groups on campus and organized summits to train leaders to educate others to conserve our freedoms.

Charlie cared about the needs of others. He sent messages of encouragement, offered Scriptures and prayers to those putting themselves in the public realm, including entrepreneurs. He met a young couple with 4 children struggling to grow their business, Good Ranchers (pasture and humanely raised meat, wild caught seafood subscriptions), and offered to do commercial spots for them (and did so for free). When a big competitor of Good Ranchers then went to Charlie and offered to pay for him to do their ads instead, Charlie said, “No,” for he was loyal. Charlie reached out to a fellow podcaster, Damani Bryant Felder, and sent him a message, “You are terrific.”  He then invited Damani to Turning Point’s Black Leadership Summit in Washington DC. Damani replied he couldn’t afford it, so Charlie gave him his personal email and told him to apply for a scholarship and he’d take care of it. Damani was given the means to go and says it was instrumental in launching him into who he is and where he is today.

There are so many words of wisdom to share. His wife Erika would ask him what his words of wisdom were for the day, and she posted them on her Instagram. Here are some of Charlie Kirk’s quotes:

  • “Faith is not just a belief, it is the moral compass that guides a society towards goodness and order.”

  • “Liberty is not a gift from government; it is a right bestowed upon us by our Creator….The Constitution doesn’t grant rights—it protects God-given rights.”

  • “Freedom is not free; it must be fought for and defended….Leaders should be servants, not rulers.”

  • “Requirements for an ID are not voter suppression – they are just commonsense steps to ensure people don’t vote if they are ineligible, don’t vote using false identities, and don’t vote more than once.”

  • “Capitalism has done more to lift people out of poverty than any other system in human history.”

  • “There’s nothing racist or xenophobic about loving the country so much that you don’t want people who hate your country to come into your country….A nation without borders is not a nation.”

  • “If God alone is the author and originator of marriage, man does not have the right or authority to redefine what God has created. … In its proper context, with Christ at its center, marriage is still one of the greatest blessings God has given mankind.”

  • “I am concerned about the rate of depression in women. Ladies, listen carefully: there is no amount of corporate success, no amount of likes on Instagram, no amount of promotions that will ever come close to the fulfillment that comes from being a wife and a mother. That is the highest calling.”

  • “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith. That would be the most important. The most important thing is my faith in my life.”

Charlie Kirk, a loving husband and father, was only 31 when he was killed, but thanks to the digital age, he leaves a profound legacy.  God turns all things to good. Charlie died doing what he loved. His following on his main social media account has gained over 10 million new followers only days after his death. Views of his videos have surged to the billions, clips of his debates are being shared to spread his wisdom.

All over the world, hundreds of thousands have gathered to pray, remember, protest their tyrannical government, volunteer to help build a better future for our country, and return to church. There have been over 100,000 applications to start campus groups this past week, multiplying the existing sixfold and rising.

We join in praying for healing for Charlie’s family, his Turning Point team, and the protection of all leaders working to make America a great nation again. We will join in celebrating on October 14th, the National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk.

His Lord said to him: “Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:23)

Clients Reviews

We needed to correct structural issues to our basement to reduce the amount of noise downstairs. The problem of uneven flooring was worse than anticipated, but Cook Remodeling identified each and every issue, discussed it with us and found solutions. They started exactly on time and finished ahead of expectations. We did a total kitchen remodel, redid the fireplace and media wall in our family room. Every Cook Remodeling employee was professional, talented, trustworthy, courteous, and respectful–they are in a class all their own. We gave them complete access to our home. They treated it as if it were their own home. We have never felt 100% comfortable with a contractor’s employees and their workmanship before this, all of them at Cook Remodeling were incredible. Cook Remodeling did an amazing, outstanding job. We highly recommend Cook Remodeling and Custom Construction.
