Keep your Electronics clean

We all have been reminded of the value of hand washing to minimize the spread of germs that have gotten on our hands to our face, but what about the surfaces we touch the most, like our phones, tablets, computers? Here are some guidelines to gain some habits of cleaning devices we use every day.

First some don’ts. Do not use bleach. Do not submerge a device or get moisture in any opening. Do not use harsh cleaners on leather or fabric. What is best to use?

Apple recently revised its recommendations for cleaning the nonporous surfaces such as the display or keyboard. One can use Clorox disinfecting wipes or a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe. Put a dispenser where you place your car keys and do a quick wipe down of your phone when you return home. You can make your own solution combining a 70/30 ratio of 70% of it being the 99 percent isopropyl alcohol and 30% of it being distilled water in a spray bottle and spray a finely textured microfiber cloth. Do not spray directly onto the device but only on the cloth to make it damp. Do not reuse the cloth without washing it. For those hard to reach crevices, use a cotton swab. Let your device dry before putting it back into a case.

Also gain a habit that before you start your tablet or computer use, to give it a good wipe down too. It is recommended to turn it off and disconnect the electronics from power before cleaning a computer, and if doing spring cleaning of it, to remove the batteries. If you eat at your desk, give your desk a good wipe down afterwards too.

The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.  2 Samuel 22:21

Clients Reviews

I can’t say anything negative about Cook Remodeling. I absolutely adore them. They did everything that they said they would do. They did such a super job for my previous home where they did a kitchen, a bathroom, and a room addition. In this house I did not hesitate to call them do a complete room addition. I would recommend Cook Remodeling to anybody. I have referred them to several of my friends and have never had any bad feedback.
