Patriotic Trifle Dessert
Prep time: 20 minutes
Serves: 12
Ingredients:
6 cups halved strawberries
5 cups blueberries
2 14 ounce cans of full fat coconut milk, refrigerated overnight
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 scoops Vanilla Complete
Directions:
- Cut strawberries, lay out the stripe pattern in your serving dish to reserve enough strawberries, then set aside for the top of the dish. Set aside ¼ cup of the blueberries for the top as well.
- Open the cans of chilled coconut milk and spoon out the solid white cream and place in bowl for whipping with a mixer.
- Mix on medium speed for about 5 minutes until the cream is light and fluffy. Add the maple syrup and vanilla extract and give it a few second mix to incorporate.
- Put a thin layer of the whipped topping on the bottom of your serving dish. Layer half the strawberries and blueberries. Sprinkle with a scoop/sachet of Vanilla Complete.
- Add another layer of the whipped cream, reserving enough for the final top layer. Add the other half of the strawberries, and then the blueberries. Sprinkle with a scoop/sachet of Vanilla Complete.
- Add the final layer of whipped cream and pattern the berries as shown in the photo to depict the flag (a wedge of blueberries for the star section, and stripes of strawberries).
- Cover and keep chilled until it is time to serve.
For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5: 13-14
